Our 2006 introduction is propagated from our original collection from Brunswick County, NC. Hibiscus aculeatus is found in upland bogs, roadside ditches, and coastal pinelands in the lower Southeast. Although Hibiscus aculeatus likes moist feet, we have had very good luck growing it in raised sandy berms with regular watering. The 4' tall fuzzy
