Pair Antique German Meissen Porcelain Openwork Compotes Footed Gilt Floral Bowls Sculpture 5" diameter X 29A very good pair of antique mid 19th century Meissen porcelain compotes or footed bowls, circa 1850. The bowls are very finely made of open pierced work, with a band of diamond shaped cut out reticulations, these are punctuated with five ornate Rococo cartouches containing brightly colored hand painted flower sprays surrounded by Rococo gilding, there are a number of corresponding floral sprays to the center of the bowl too.
