and I believe dates to the earlyish 1990s

especially where the lines of one section cross over top of the section that frames her face

I purchased the piece from the estate of a dancer/choreographer in Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood

Painted Small Relief Carved Portrait of Boy with (Upside down) Teddy Bear camp site Each domino measures 1 9/16"I like this one for its folky strangeness, and for the fact that it was most definitely carved after a photograph, right down to the fact that this young boy holds his (wonderfully awkward) teddy bear upside down! I also like that this buttoned up boy looks as much like a grown man as he does a young child to me appearing as if well on his way to become a suburban banker, or an accountant though I always root for surprises, and he does look a but as
