The head itself is painted a good dark green

this one I presume unfinished

on the other between figure with compass at far left and the meeting house "spied" in the distance at right

Some wear to the box and some masking tape added at some point to reinforce it but still holding together well and the blocks are in excellent condition

I've never seen the likes of it before, a paperweight with photograph embedded perfectly framed by cutout heart inside the larger brass heart. Surely a love token, and surely made by a metalsmith, in 1903, I presume for his sweetheart Carrie (or Earrie? but I'm thinking maybe he just added an extra flourish
