Wonderful Tall Primitively Carved Woman with Nailed on Arms 1960s soviet union and its original pain onLong and lanky, one might take this carved figure for a male, except that her maker was clearly intent on giving her breasts and, perhaps sometime later, someone used a pencil to give her a subtle patch of pubic hair. Photos don't do her justice; this clearly old carving has a really great presence in person, with a really warm patina to the dry wood. I love her helmut like head of hair, raised, triangularly shaped nose and serene expression, chunky
