King James I Size:XL: 120 x 80cm Surmounted by an image ofKing James I, 1614, (1910). The king (1566 1625) wears a thickly padded doublet and bombasted breeches. These appealed to him as being effective against the point of a dagger of rapier. The slashed breeches and corsets give necessary shape to chest and waist.
