The very large camera mounting platform (about 10x17cm) makes this head well suited to use with large format cameras that need a bit of extra base support

Extremely flexible, with plenty of adjustment potential, but also relatively compact: this camera comes with a 12" rail and an attachable 6" extension for longer lenses, keeping the whole thing pretty trim unless you need the extra extension.
