A little research reveals that "You Gotta Stop Kicking My Dog Around" was written in 1912 by Cy Perkins

Satisfying Mid-Century Abstract Oil on Canvas astronomical phenomenon It’s unmarked and I’ve searchedI dont buy a lot of mid century abstraction, but when I am out hunting for things I look at everything I come across in search of all things good, which I think this smallish painting very much is! Signed at lower right (I can make out Rog but am not certain the rest of the name), the artist definitely knew what they were doingit appears to me quite a confident painting, and a very resolved one, with a lot of life in it, and of course I also like it
