An eye hook on the backside of the piece latches to hold the the curved shelf sturdily in place when it is folded down

and I would guess a specific one at that

C. 1920 30s Zanesville I believe, and in great shape; just lovely. 5 1 4" in diameter x 2 1 8" t. Some irregularity to the glazing as is always the case with these, all to the good I think, and some staining and crazing to the interior. No chips or cracks.
