Description
Chardonnay from Côte des Blancs
The 2017 Clos Cantenac was picked before the rainfall in early September though
This is relatively elegant for a Nuits villages with its densely fruited nose of various red berries plus an abundance of floral and freshly turned earth scents
this is not to say that it is an elegant wine though it is less youthfully austere than I typically find with this wine
Clusel Roche, Champon other_regions_australia Chardonnay from Côte des BlancsFirst bottled separately in 2018, the 2019 Cote Rotie Le Champon comes from an east facing site that Clusel says delivers more concentration but also more freshness. It's an impressive wine this year, with scents of crushed stone, black olives and raspberries on the nose, ample concentration and richness on the medium to full bodied palate and a long, silky textured finish.
