fresh and ultra pure essence of red berry fruit nose is nuanced by wet stone and herbal hints and leads to detailed and equally stony middle weight flavors that are still quite primary and supported by a firm but ripe acid spine and fine length
The adaption of some of the Grange "formula" (for want of a better term) of winemaking seems to lend more of an Australian style to this wine
but the balance isn’t nearly as well dialed in compared to the best of these grands crus
and the 2015 is a blend of 85% Garnacha and 15% Syrah
Wittmann, Westhofener Brunnenhauschen Riesling GG other_regions_australia fresh and ultra pure essenceThe 2019 Brunnenhuschen Riesling GG opens very pure, clear and intense on the concentrated, flinty limestone nose. Pure and salty on the palate, the Brunnenhuschen is fresh and vital and reveals fine tannin grip but is quite closed at this early stage. A wine to keep. Tasted in August 2021.
