Navy uniform the hat at least sure looks Navy to me, and U. S. is written on the pocket of his rucksack. I just love the manner of the drawing, and especially the rendering of his face in profile, with outlined hat on top and ear framed by the line of his black hair, and then this big hand holding his trumpet to his mouth with tassels like teardrops painted in this
