I've become pretty enamored of these turned and painted wooden apples--made in Japan for the Western market-- which often housed roulette style horse racing games or miniature wooden tea sets

and I thought they would make great pedestals though they are also pretty nice sculptural objects just on their own

The colors are lush and perfect in combination
