Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a swastika in mid flight, flanked on each side by nine oak leaves, the reverse bearing a single rivet securing the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and tapering horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch,
