A Prussian 1870-71 Honour Cross For Ladies & Young Ladies Hold with very sharp edgesSilver frame and black, red, and white enamels; measuring 33 mm x 33 mm; on correct later period ribbon; only slight contact, otherwise extremely condition. Footnote: The Ehrenkreuz fr Frauen und Jungfrauen was created on March 22, 1871 by Kaiser Wilhelm I of Prussia. The award was presented to women and girls who made sacrifices to help Prussian troops fighting in the German Franco War (1870 1871).
