Taps for "Shanty" Town: Two Complete Steve Canyon Adventures Sculpture Next up we feature theTwo complete Steve Canyon adventures: "Taps for 'Shanty' Town (April 12 to July 23, 1956) and "The Girl from Little Dogie" (July 24 to November 28, 1956). The latter story introduces Poteet Canyon. A photograph shows Caniff with his Poteet model. Every strip here was carefully reproduced from Caniff's own studio proof sheets for remarkable clarity. The Sunday strips include Caniff's interesting out of the panel linework that can be seen no where else.
