Of typical Austrian manufacture, a large eight point star, a four point silver base with clusters of smooth rays, with four silver gilt rays adhered to the silver base by rivets on the reverse, the obverse medallion features a red enamelled cross with swords piercing the center, the medallion features the monogram of its founder, Ferdinand I of Bulgaria, surrounded by a ring of green enamels inscribed , the reverse
