Hesse-Kassel, Landgraviate. A Rare Military Merit Medal, Gold Grade, C.1830 Auction adorned by a Mural crown(Goldene Militrverdienstmedaille). Instituted in 1821 by Elector Wilhelm II. (1821 1832 issue). Constructed of gilded silver, the obverse with a central rightward facing profile of Elector Wilhelm II circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central inscription of DEM VERDIENST inside of a laurel wreath, tied together at the bottom by a ribbon, the edge with an inscription of DER BILDENDEN KNSTE ACADEMIE (THE FINE ARTS ACADEMY), unmarked,
