Tortoise Brooches, Birka, Small Beard Oil Embroidered logos and designsA pair of carefully handmade and detailed small sized tortoise brooches inspired by a find from Birka, Sweden. Tortoise brooches (dress brooches) are worn in pairs on the front of a Viking woman's dress. It was customary to suspend a string of beads and charms between them. Small sized tortoise brooches are quite practical, as they do not weigh down the dress as much. They were also worn by children, which is evident in finds such as from Birka.
