Germany, Heer. A Kuban Shield Newly Listed measuring 45mm (w) x 51mm(Kubanschild). Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a stylized map of the Kuban region, topped by an inscription of KUBAN and a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1943, affixed to a magnetic metal backplate with size clips, retaining a field grey wool liner and partially intact black paper reverse liner, the former indicating Heer issue, the shield measuring 51. 96 mm (w)
