Stick seller, Cries of London Finish:Single View of nos 80 -Stick seller, 1760. A ragged stick seller and two background views; to the left a woman is holding a stick over her kneeling husband and twisting his nose, and to the right a husband is beating his wife with a stick he has presumably just purchased from the stick seller. The text below suggests wife beating and clothes cleaning as two uses of the stick. From Cries of London, 1760.
