Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Duchy. A Saxe-Ernestine House Order Medal of Merit Newly Listed 5 mm x 24 mm(Silberne Verdienstmedaille des Herzoglich Sachsen Ernestinischen Hausordens). Instituted 25 March 1833 by Duke Friedrich of Saxe Altenburg, Duke Ernst I of Saxe Coburg and Gotha, and Duke Bernhard Erich Freund of Saxe Meiningen. (1895 1905). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from a period replacement ribbon, the obverse bearing a rightward facing profile of Duke Alfred of Saxe Coburg and Gotha, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse
