Austria, Empire. A Silver Bravery Medal, II Class, Franz Joseph I, Type III, c.1900 Auction Heer-style eagle patch in brown(Tapferkeitsmedaille). Instituted July 19th, 1789. (Franz Joseph I Type III 1866 1914 issue). A circular silver medal, the obverse depicting the rightward facing profile of Kaiser Franz Joseph I of Austria, circumscribed by his name and title in German, the reverse inscribed Der Tapferkeit within an open ended laurel wreath with a Trophy of Arms at the base, with an affixed suspension ring for suspension from its period original ribbon, measuring 31.
