Germany, Imperial. A Prussian Observer’s Badge, C. 1917 Hold with a central Latin Cross(Beobachterabzeichen). Constructed of silvered brass with multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, around a central enameled applique consisting of a black and white checkered centrepiece trimmed with a red border, situated atop a ribbed background, the reverse with a narrow barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch,
