A Royal Jordanian Order Of Independence (Wisam Al-Istiqlal); Breast Star Newly Listed marked "1 BMI" and datedThree piece construction, silver gilt with red and white enamelled insignia, hallmarked on the reverse, mounted to a ten pointed silver star base, hallmarked on the reverse, 83. 3 mm x 88. 2 mm, vertical pinback, intact enamels, extremely fine. Footnote: The Wisam al Istiqlal was established by Emir Hussein I ibn Ali in 1921, as an award for civilian or military merit while he was ruler of the Hejaz. In 1924, ibn Saud ousted Hussein and founded what
