Constructed of patinated bronze with multi coloured enamels, the obverse consists of a circular laurel leaf wreath surrounding a white enameled disc, bearing a raised German national eagle clutching a cogwheel defaced by an enameled HJ insignia, circumscribed by an inscription of KREISSIEGER 1939 (DISTRICT CHAMPION 1939).
