This pair of hand thrown matte green glazed stoneware bowls are just about the most beautiful bowls I can imagine

with just a bit of red wax residue around the lip that I should be able to fully remove

and the irregularity of the edge of the black paint makes me think it was made to please its maker rather than for sale

Wabanaki Sweetgrass Basket Pin Cushion Moxie memorabilia This pair of hand thrownI'm becoming a sucker for a sweet pin cushion, in addition to a nice Northeast Coast Native basket, so of course I love this little combination of the two! I believe this one dates to the early 20th century, with the basket woven of sweet grass on a naturally green dyed splint ash structure and the pin cushion a rosy pink velvet. It has seen some use, with small holes in the velvet, but has plenty of years of use in it yet. 2 3 4" diameter x 1 3 8"
