it is mid-century in style and was purchased from an estate sale that included a great collection of mid to late 20th century ceramics and studio pottery from Japan

the strap that would be used to snap the box closed is fairly tattered

and I think was used by him or her quite a bit

On the back of the frame is written Kayak Race, and the print itself (which has been cut down, as documented in photos) is mounted to a sheet behind it on which appears the artists signature, Pat McNair. While I have not been able to find out anything about him or her, I think they created a marvelously
